WHO loses contact with last hospital staff in northern Gaza
World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Friday that it has lost contact with the staff of the last operational hospital in northern Gaza after the 'Israeli' army stated it is conducting operations in the area.
Gaza Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli Occupation army stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital and detained hundreds of patients and staff.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that since reports of an airstrike targeting Kamal Adwan Hospital emerged that morning, communication with personnel there has been lost.
Since this morning’s reports of a raid of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern #Gaza, we have lost touch with the personnel there. This development is deeply disturbing given the number of patients being served and people sheltering there.

“This development is deeply disturbing given the number of patients being served and people sheltering there,” he stated.
Tedros noted that WHO and partner agencies reached the hospital late Wednesday and managed to transfer 23 patients and 26 caregivers to the main Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
“Kamal Adwan Hospital has been overflowing with close to 200 patients - a constant stream of horrific trauma cases,” he added.
He emphasized, “Accessing hospitals across Gaza is getting unbelievably harder and exposes our staff to unnecessary danger.”
The WHO called for an immediate ceasefire and for the protection of hospitals, patients, and healthcare workers.
This month, 'Israel' has launched a massive and brutal offensive on northern Gaza, claiming it aims to prevent the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) from regrouping in the area.
