The "Israeli" Ministry of Defense affirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) amid escalating tensions in the region.

"Israeli" Minister Yoav Gallant conveyed to US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that "Israel" will continue to take necessary measures to avoid jeopardizing UN peacekeepers. This statement comes in the wake of reports that at least five UNIFIL personnel were injured during recent Israeli Occupation operations in southern Lebanon.

President Emmanuel Macron of France condemned "Israel's" deliberate targeting of UNIFIL forces, calling it "absolutely unacceptable."

During a summit in Cyprus with leaders from Mediterranean EU countries, Macron emphasized that France "will not accept" further attacks on UN soldiers and argued that halting the export of weapons used in the ongoing aggressions in Gaza and Lebanon is the "only lever" to achieve peace. He clarified that this position does not equate to disarming Israel in the face of its security threats.

Macron's comments were reinforced by the French Foreign Ministry, which summoned the "Israeli" ambassador to Paris following the targeting of UNIFIL sites in Lebanon. The ministry stated that these attacks represent serious violations of international law and demanded an immediate cessation.

The UNIFIL peacekeeping mission has also reported an increase in dangers to its personnel, confirming injuries to two soldiers in two explosions near a border observation point. The situation has escalated to the point where UNIFIL warned that these incidents pose a "severe threat" to the safety of its forces.

The UN mission reported structural damage at its site near the Blue Line, specifically in Al-Labounah, where an "Israeli" bulldozer reportedly collided with protective barriers.
