Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris fired back at former US President Donald Trump after he publicly shared a medical report about her health, accusing him of lacking transparency about his own well-being.

Harris, 59, pointed out the nearly 20-year age difference between her and Trump, 78, questioning whether he was physically and mentally fit for the presidency.

"It’s clear that Trump and his team don’t really want the American people to know whether he’s truly qualified to lead this country," Harris said during a recent campaign stop. She further argued that Trump avoided disclosing his health throughout his political career.

In response, the White House released an official medical report stating that Harris is in “excellent health.” Her physician, Dr. Joshua Simmons, described her as having the "physical and mental resilience necessary to perform the duties of the US presidency."

The report outlined that Harris deals with mild seasonal allergies and a minor skin rash, both of which can be managed with standard medications. It also noted her mild nearsightedness, for which she wears contact lenses. Her last routine medical examination took place in April, and the report described the results as normal.

Political analysts suggest the release of Harris’s medical information is a strategic move to pressure Trump to be more forthcoming about his own health.

Trump, who has previously dismissed concerns about his age and stamina, did not release any new health records in response to the report on Harris. However, his campaign issued a statement claiming the former president is in "ideal and excellent health" and fully capable of serving as commander-in-chief. The statement also took aim at Harris, suggesting she lacks the strength and resilience to lead the nation.
