Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas.
Palestinian presidency blames US for ongoing "war of extermination" by Israeli Occupation
Palestinian presidency issued a statement holding the US administration responsible for the continuation of what it described as the Israeli Occupation’s "war of extermination" against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
The official spokesperson for the presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, emphasized that the occupation continues its siege of northern Gaza and escalates its aggression on Jabalia and Tulkarm, as well as their surrounding refugee camps, in addition to other Palestinian territories. He stated that the political, financial, and military support provided by the United States allows the occupation to persist with its aggression and defy international resolutions and laws due to this biased support.
Abu Rudeineh urged the US administration to pressure its strategic ally, Israeli Occupation, to halt its aggression and comply with international legitimacy and court rulings. He warned that continued US backing of the occupation might lead to a full-scale explosion in the region, with severe consequences for all parties involved.
He concluded by reiterating that the only solution to the region's issues lies in ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state based on international legitimacy. He also called for unity around the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to safeguard the national project and protect Jerusalem and its holy sites.
