Fingerprint evidence uncovers chilling murder case in Ramtha
A robbery investigation in Ramtha unveiled a chilling murder case after a fingerprint collected from the crime scene linked a suspect to the shooting death of a man in his home.
The incident occurred last Friday when the victim was found shot in bed, with the crime initially being disguised as a suicide. However, the forensic team’s analysis, which included the collection of epithelial cells and an examination of a gun found next to the body, confirmed that the death was indeed a homicide.
Authorities reported that a fingerprint found on the gun did not match the thirty-something victim, raising suspicions about the involvement of his wife.
Subsequently, a dedicated police team launched an investigation to locate the suspect, leading to the arrest of both the wife and her alleged accomplice. They have been referred to the Public Prosecutor for Major Crimes.
The Public Prosecutor charged the primary suspect, a 30-year-old man, with premeditated murder and ordered his detention for 15 days, with the possibility of renewal, at a correctional facility.
The victim's wife has also been charged with complicity in the crime and will remain in custody for the same duration.
A source close to the investigation revealed to Roya that the wife facilitated the entry of the assailant, whom she knew prior to the incident. It was reported that while the victim was asleep in his bedroom, the assailant entered and shot him in the head.
The source also indicated that the perpetrator attempted to mislead investigators by leaving the victim’s fingerprints on the gun’s trigger and rearranging the crime scene to suggest that it was a suicide.
Forensic experts further determined, through samples taken from the crime scene, that the gunshot wound caused significant trauma, resulting in a skull fracture and brain damage, ultimately leading to the victim’s death.
