Emirates Airlines announced the cancellation of all flights to and from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad), Iran (Tehran), and Jordan (Amman) on October 2 and 3, 2024. This decision comes as tensions escalate in the region, impacting travel plans.

Customers transiting through Dubai with final destinations in Iraq, Iran, and Jordan will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin until further notice. Passengers were advised to contact their booking agents for alternative travel options or to reach out to Emirates directly if they have booked through the airline.

Meanwhile, Captain Haitham Misto, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), confirmed early Wednesday that Jordanian airspace remains open to all airlines.

He clarified that no notifications had been received from any airline about suspending their flights, except for one flight cancellation due to the temporary airspace closure.

Misto had previously announced the reopening of Jordanian airspace on Tuesday night, after it was temporarily closed for less than two hours as a precaution before an Iranian missile strike on the Israeli Occupation.

A military source from the Jordanian Armed Forces also confirmed that the airspace closure was a temporary safety measure, and it has since been reopened for all flights.
