Fact check: Did Iranian missile strike on 'Israel' claim Jordanian life?
On Tuesday, Jordanian social media users shared a video of a young man who reportedly died as a result of a missile strike from Iran targeting Israeli Occupation territory. However, it was revealed that the incident did not occur in Jordan.
Jordan's Ministry of Interior announced that shrapnel which fell in various governorates, including the capital, Balqa, Zarqa, Madaba, and Karak resulted in two minor injuries. The Ministry urged citizens to obtain information from official sources and avoid listening to rumors.
In related news, the Palestinian news agency “Wafa” reported on Tuesday evening that one person died in Jericho, with material damages reported due to falling missiles and debris in several areas.
This came after Iran launched a wide-scale missile attack aimed at Israeli Occupation following US warnings of an imminent Iranian strike.
Israeli Occupation media reported that dozens of interception missiles were fired at the incoming Iranian projectiles, with sirens sounding throughout the occupied territories. The Foreign Ministry noted that the alarm systems prompted millions to seek shelter.
Hebrew media outlets indicated that over 200 missiles were launched from Iran within the last half hour.
