Hamas mourns leader killed in “Israeli” airstrike
Gaza-based Hamas has announced the death of its leader in Lebanon, Fathi Sharif Abu Al-Amin, following an “Israeli” airstrike on his home in the Burj Al-Shamali camp in southern Lebanon.
The attack also claimed the lives of his wife, Omaya Ibrahim Abdel Hamid, and his son, Amin Fathi Sharif, as well as his daughter, Wafa Fathi Sharif. The family was together when the airstrike hit their home.
In a statement, Hamas honored Abu Al-Amin, describing him as a pivotal figure in the Palestinian resistance:
"Martyr and commander Fathi Sharif Abu Al-Amin, leader of Hamas in Lebanon and member of the movement's external leadership, fell today in a heinous act of terror alongside his steadfast wife, son, and daughter during a brutal airstrike targeting their home in Burj Al-Shamali.
“Brother Abu Al-Amin's journey ended as a martyr, following in the footsteps of our fallen leaders in the blessed 'Flood of Al-Aqsa' battle, after a life dedicated to the Palestinian cause and the struggle for justice” – Hamas said in a statement.
