Hezbollah officially announced the death of senior commander Ali Karaki, also known as Abu Al-Fadl, in an Israeli Occupation airstrike on Harat Hreik, a suburb in southern Beirut.

According to an official statement released by the group, Karaki was killed alongside a group of fellow fighters, including Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, in what Hezbollah referred to as a “criminal Zionist” strike.

Hezbollah praised Karaki’s long-standing contributions to the resistance against Israeli Occupation, describing him as a key figure in the group’s operations since the Israeli Occupation invasion of southern Lebanon in 1982.

Karaki played a leading role in many of the organization's pivotal moments, including the "Israeli" withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000 and the 2006 war between "Israel" and Hezbollah.

The statement highlighted Karaki's involvement in coordinating resistance efforts along Lebanon’s southern front, where Hezbollah maintains a stronghold near the "Israeli" border.

According to the group, Karaki had been in charge of resistance operations in the region since October 8, 2023, leading military units and defensive operations until his death.

Hezbollah extended condolences to Karaki's family.
