The head of the Association of Travel & Tourist Agents in Lebanon (ATTAL), John Aboud, revealed a "significant decline in activity at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, with about 14 airlines halting flights to Lebanon due to the ongoing security and military developments in the country."

Aboud noted that the drop ranged between 30 percent and 40 percent.

In remarks reported by the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), Abboud listed the airlines that suspended flights to Lebanon, including: Tarom, Kuwait Airways, Saudia, Lufthansa, Sun Express, Swissair, Air France, Transavia, Turkiye, and Cyprus Airways.

He pointed out that "Turkish Airlines suspended its flights to Beirut around four or five days ago," while Cyprus Airways is expected to resume flights to Beirut either on Monday or Tuesday after temporarily halting them.

Abboud also noted that Ethiopian Airlines had previously reduced its flights to Lebanon from three to one.

"Among the airlines that have reduced their daily flights from three to two are Royal Jordanian, Etihad, Qatar Airways, EgyptAir, and Emirates," Abboud said, adding that Flydubai and Air Arabia continue their operations to Lebanon.

He emphasized that Middle East Airlines (MEA) is making tremendous efforts by adding extra flights to fill the gap left by other airlines. He highlighted that MEA is servicing all routes and destinations, and with the suspension of Turkish Airlines, it has increased the number of its flights to Turkey and Istanbul.
