The Southern Military Region thwarted an attempt by a drone to breach Jordanian territory within its area of responsibility.
A spokesperson from the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) General Command stated that the Border Guard Forces in the Southern Military Region detected the drone attempting to cross the Jordanian border.
The drone was engaged according to rules of engagement and was downed within Jordanian territory.
The drone has been handed over to the relevant authorities.
The spokesperson emphasized that the armed forces respond decisively to various threats at the border and any attempts to undermine national security and intimidate its citizens.
