Voter turnout in parliamentary elections

By 4:00 PM on Tuesday, voter turnout for Jordan’s parliamentary elections had reached 16.99%, with around one million citizens casting their votes.

Male voters accounted for 471,116 (19.68%), while female voters numbered 388,458 (14.46%).

More than 5.1 million eligible Jordanians are registered to vote in these elections, with turnout rates varying across different districts.

  • Amman’s 2nd District: 12.10%
  • Amman’s 3rd District: 13.44%
  • Irbid’s 1st District: 20.43%
  • Irbid’s 2nd District: 23.80%
  • Zarqa: 13.36%
  • Ma'an: 44.93%
  • Tafilah: 33.85%
  • Balqa: 24.41%
  • Karak: 38.89%
  • Ajloun: 34.32%
  • Jerash: 32.45%
  • Madaba: 28.57%
  • Aqaba: 20.64%
  • Mafraq: 34.17%
  • Northern Badia: 31.12%
  • Central Badia: 31.74%
  • Southern Badia: 43.87%

Earlier, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) spokesperson, Mohammad Khair Rawashdeh, confirmed the opening of a legal investigation regarding unstamped and unsigned ballots found in a street in Ma’an, calling it an “electoral crime.”

Tuesday’s election marks the selection of members for Jordan’s 20th House of Representatives. Over 1,600 candidates are running, with 172 local lists and 25 national party lists.

The IEC is responsible for overseeing all stages of the election, while the executive authority provides logistical and security support to ensure a smooth process.
