13:03 2024-09-04|The government has declared a public holiday on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, in observance of the Prophet Muhammad's day of birth (Mawlid al-Nabi).
The announcement states that all ministries, government departments, public institutions, universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and government-owned companies will suspend operations on this day, corresponding to the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal in the Islamic calendar year 1446.
However, the directive excludes ministries and government departments that require continued operations due to the nature of their work.
