Does Sept. 9-11 suspension of classes apply to private schools?
The Head of the Association for Owners of Private Schools, Munther Al-Surani, revealed details about the Ministry of Education's circular regarding the suspension of public school classes on Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 9, 10, and 11.
Sourani stated that this decision does not apply to private schools. The private schools will be closed only on Election Day, Tuesday, Sept. 10, to allow citizens to participate in the parliamentary elections.
Education Minister, Azmi Mahafzah, had previously decided to suspend classes in all public schools from Sept. 9 through 11. This decision was made because many public schools will serve as polling and counting centers.
According to the ministry's decision, the missed classes on Monday and Wednesday will be compensated on Saturdays, Sept. 21 and 28.
