Southern Command intercepts drones attempting to smuggle narcotics

13:24 2024-08-29|Early Thursday morning, the Jordanian Southern Command intercepted two smuggling attempts involving drones carrying narcotics on its western front.
A source from the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) stated that Border Guards, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully thwarted the attempts.
The drones were shot down within Jordanian territory according to the rules of engagement, and the seized drugs were handed over to the relevant authorities.
The source reiterated that JAF is committed to addressing border threats and preventing narcotics from reaching the country and affecting its citizens.
