Syria was struck by a second earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, specifically east of the governorate of Hama, just three hours after a larger quake of 5.4 magnitude affected the same region.

The Syrian National Seismological Center reported that the latest tremor's epicenter was located 23 kilometers east of Hama. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), there have been no significant damages or injuries reported in Hama or other affected provinces as a result of the two earthquakes.

The tremors were also felt by some residents in Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon after midnight Tuesday, following the initial quake in Syria.

The Jordanian Seismological Observatory reported that the earlier quake, with a magnitude of 5.4 and occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers, was felt in Jordan.

Ghassan Sweidan, director of the observatory, noted that while the quake was noticeable, it did not pose a significant threat to infrastructure.

Sweidan added that the epicenter of the quake was relatively distant from Jordan, approximately 345 kilometers from Amman. Despite this, some areas in Amman and northern Jordan experienced the tremor, although no significant impact was reported, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).
