A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted murder after shooting another man with a gun.

The defendant was found guilty of attempted premeditated murder under Articles 326 and 70 of the Penal Code.

The Grand Criminal Court found the defendant guilty of firing a gun into the air and then intentionally shooting the victim in the arm.

According to court documents, the two men had a disagreement that escalated into violence. The defendant shot the victim during an argument and then took him to the hospital for treatment.

Medical examination revealed the victim suffered skin and muscle lacerations, tendon injuries in the forearm, and fragmented fractures in the left forearm bones, resulting in a permanent partial disability.

The victim initially decided not to press charges, but later changed his mind and filed a complaint with the police.

The court determined that the defendant's actions constituted attempted murder and handed down a 12-year prison sentence.
