Israeli Occupation claims assassination of Mohammed Deif

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced the assassination of Mohammed Deif, the overall commander of Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

"We received reliable intelligence regarding the assassination of Mohammed Deif in the Khan Yunis attack three weeks ago," the IOF and Shin Bet announced in a joint statement on Thursday.

The statement added, "Air Force jets targeted a compound where Deif and Rafa Salama were located, according to accurate intelligence from the army and Shin Bet."

Hamas has yet to issue any confirmation or denial regarding the IOF's claims about the assassination of Mohammed Deif.

Earlier, Khalil Al-Hayya, the deputy head of Hamas in Gaza, addressed "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the latter's statements about the ongoing aggression in Gaza and the "Mawasi" operation in Khan Yunis.

Hayya said, "Mohammed Deif hears you now and mocks your false claims. The occupation continues its relentless killing and destruction, targeting children and women."
