Who is Fuad Shukr, target of “Israeli” assassination attempt in Beirut?

Fuad Shukr, a high-ranking Hezbollah official and senior military advisor to Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, was targeted in an assassination attempt on Tuesday evening by the Israeli Occupation. 

According to Lebanese media, Shukr, who also directs Hezbollah’s precision missile project, is considered "the number 2 in Hezbollah." 

He holds significant influence within the organization as the chief military commander of Hezbollah’s forces in southern Lebanon and is a key member of its top military body, the "Jihad Council."

Shukr, born in Baalbek in 1962, is also known by the nickname Haj Mohsen.

While “Israeli” media outlets suggested that the attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut was successful, “Israeli” broadcasting authorities have yet to confirm the success of the operation. 

In contrast, two security sources in Lebanon have reported that Shukr survived the attack.
