CARC chief calls Beirut flights suspension precautionary measure
Haitham Misto, Chief Commissioner of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority (CARC), said that the suspension of national carrier flights is a precautionary measure that followed a risk assessment of flights to Beirut, Lebanon.
In a statement to Roya on Monday, he added that all developments will be closely monitored and measures will be taken to ensure flights operate within safety and security standards.
Earlier today, The Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) suspended all national carriers flights to Beirut Airport for a brief period.
In accordance, Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) announced Monday suspending its flights to Beirut.
RJ stated, “Royal Jordanian Airlines announced today, Monday, the suspension of its flights to the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The airline will cancel today's flight RJ403 and tomorrow's flight RJ407, following a decision by the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission to temporarily suspend all national airlines' flights to Beirut Airport. The situation will continue to be evaluated regarding tomorrow's flights.”
The airline will cancel flight RJ403 on Monday and flight RJ407 on Tuesday, following the CARC’s decision to suspend flights.
