Microsoft, CrowdStrike issue statements on global technical glitch
Microsoft and CrowdStrike have issued statements regarding the recent global IT disruptions affecting multiple sectors.
Microsoft, via a tweet, announced that the primary cause of the disruption has been resolved, but residual effects are still impacting some Microsoft 365 applications and services.
The company is implementing additional mitigation efforts to restore full functionality.

CrowdStrike identified a defect in a Windows content update as the cause of the issue, a statement read. Mac and Linux systems remain unaffected.
"This is not a cyberattack, and the defect has been isolated and fixed," it added. CrowdStrike recommended customers communicate through official channels for updates.
The disruptions have caused delays and issues in airlines, financial institutions, media, and more globally.
