Red Sea cable cuts result in slow internet across Middle East, South Asia
Internet disruptions were reported Sunday across the Middle East and South Asia after multiple undersea cables in the Red Sea were cut, Microsoft said.
The tech giant’s statements did not provide further details about the cause of the cuts.

Microsoft acknowledged that its Azure cloud services were affected by the disruption, noting that “network traffic traversing through the Middle East may experience increased latency due to undersea fiber cuts in the Red Sea.”
NetBlocks, the internet watchdog, reported “degraded” connectivity in countries including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and India, resulting in “slow speeds and intermittent access.”
