“Israeli” army admits to severe tank, ammunition shortage
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) acknowledged on Monday a critical shortage of tanks and ammunition, Anadolu Agency reported.
In filings to “Israel’s” Supreme Court, the army admitted that numerous tanks had been damaged during the war on Gaza and that ammunition supplies were running low.
This revelation came to light amid a petition advocating for the incorporation of women fighters into the IOF’s Armoured Corps, according to "Israeli" newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
"The number of operational tanks in the corps is insufficient for the needs of the war and for conducting experiments of the deployment of women," the newspaper quoted from the court filings.
Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi consequently decided to postpone the inclusion of women in combat roles until November 2025 due to the severe shortage.
