Jordan dispatches dozens of aid trucks to Gaza
Over the past five days, 78 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have crossed from Jordan into Gaza. The shipments included ready-to-eat meals, bottled water, food parcels, mattresses, and hygiene products.
The trucks were dispatched by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), with support from various organizations including Al-Imdad Association, UNICEF, the Garment Traders Association, the French government, Yad Aloun, Al-Ghraa Charity Association, Life Organization, and Qatar Charity.
Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the JHCO, stated that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the restrictions on aid exacerbate the tragedy. He emphasized that the current situation requires doubled efforts and resources to ensure aid reaches the people in Gaza.
He added that Jordan is making every effort to open more crossings and increase the volume of humanitarian supplies to alleviate the impact of the conflict on Gaza’s residents.
Al-Shibli added that the total number of land trucks that have entered Gaza to date is 2,641, along with 53 planes via Al-Arish.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization continues to accept monetary donations through its bank account at Union Bank, account number JO32 UBSI 1030 0000 4010 1659 9151 06, through electronic wallets, "CliQ" with the code JHCOGAZA, "eFAWATEERcom," and via its website www.jhco.org.jo.
