Trump reveals details on surviving assassination attempt
The New York Times has disclosed a conversation between Donald Trump, the former Republican presidential candidate, and his doctor.
The American newspaper revealed that the doctor stated that Trump mentioned, “if the bullet’s position had shifted by one centimeter, he wouldn’t have survived,” noting that a simple head movement narrowly avoided certain death.
On Saturday, Trump experienced an assassination attempt while addressing his supporters at an election rally in Pennsylvania.
Just before being shot, Trump turned to point at a graph showing illegal immigration statistics on a screen to his right, emphasizing that this small gesture saved his life.
Trump sustained a minor injury to his right ear and remarked, “That moment (the simple gesture) probably saved my life. If I hadn’t done that, the bullet would have gone straight through my head, and I would have been dead.”
Meanwhile, Melania Trump, the former president’s wife, called the attacker a “monster,” condemning the incident that targeted her husband and the Republican Party’s presidential candidate.
In a statement on the X platform, she expressed her appreciation for the Secret Service and the courageous law enforcement officers who risked their lives to protect her husband and family.
