Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh officially announced on Monday suspension of work for various sectors on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in celebration of the Islamic New Year.

The suspension will apply to ministries, official departments, public institutions and bodies, public universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), and government-owned companies.

However, the announcement makes exceptions for ministries, official departments, and institutions whose nature of work requires continuous operation.

In his statement, Khasawneh emphasized the significance of the Islamic New Year, urging all ministries, official departments, institutions, and public bodies to actively participate in commemorating the occasion.

July 7, 2024, corresponds to the first of Muharram 1446 AH.
