More than 800 senior “Israeli” army officers with the ranks of colonel and lieutenant colonel have resigned this year, according to reports collected by the Middle East Monitor.

Due to increased pressure on the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) to manage challenging field conditions across multiple conflict zones in “Israel”, the army has seen an influx of resignations.

Military sources indicate that this wave of resignations poses a significant challenge for the IOF.

The departure of such a substantial number of high-ranking officers threatens to impact the army’s operational efficiency and readiness to address future security threats.

In response to this crisis, the “Israeli” army is implementing measures to bolster training programs and provide psychological support to its officers.

Additionally, internal policies are being reviewed with the aim of improving service conditions and attracting new candidates to fill the gaps left by the departing officers.

On June 25, the “Israeli” Supreme Court ruled that the “Israeli” government must conscript draft-age ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Jews into the military, overturning a de facto exemption that had been in place for 76 years.
