The United States President Joe Biden made clear Friday that he has every intention of staying in the 2024 presidential elections race, despite a performance dubbed as “disastrous” by many against Donald Trump which triggered panic among Democrats.

"I don't walk as easy as I used to, I don't speak as smoothly as I used to, I don't debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do know – I know how to tell the truth," Biden told his supporters in a rally in North Carolina.

"I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. I know, like millions of Americans know, when you get knocked down, you get back up,” he added.

A CNN poll showed that 67% of registered observers favored Trump's performance, compared to 33% for Biden.

Before the debate, 55% of observers had expected Trump to perform better, against 45% for Biden. These results reflect the opinions of viewers who watched the debate, rather than broader political preferences or other interests.

Additionally, the poll revealed that 57% of observers doubted Biden's ability to lead the country effectively, while 44% expressed similar doubts about Trump.

Biden's body language during the debate drew widespread attention and criticism on social media, causing significant embarrassment for the sitting president.
