The Aqaba weather station recorded the highest temperature in Jordan on Friday, reaching 46.8 degrees Celsius. It was followed closely by the Deir Alla station, which registered 46.7 degrees Celsius.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, other extremely high temperatures recorded included 46.2 degrees in Baqoura, 44.2 in Ghor Safi, 44 in Wadi Al-Rayyan, 43.7 in Azraq, 43.2 in Khalidiya/Al-Dhulayl, 42.6 in Safawi, 42.1 in Zarqa, and 42 degrees in Jafar.

In light of these high temperatures and the expected continued rise over the coming Saturday and Sunday, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) has emphasized the importance of following preventive measures to avoid heatstroke and heat exhaustion incidents.

The Directorate advises against direct sun exposure, drinking adequate amounts of water, and wearing light, loose-fitting clothing to prevent heat-related illnesses.

It also warns against leaving children alone in vehicles, especially during shopping trips before the holiday, and to avoid peak hours. Additionally, it cautions against leaving flammable materials like sanitizers, gas canisters, and perfumes inside vehicles.
