The Hamas leader Osama Hamdan stated that neither Hamas nor anyone else had any idea about the number of living captives in Gaza.

Hamdan emphasized that Hamas needed a clear stance from the Israeli Occupation accepting a ceasefire. He insisted that the Occupation must withdraw from Gaza and allow Palestinians to decide their future.

Hamdan asserted that an agreement could be reached if Washington acted positively, not just from the Occupation's perspective. He noted that the Occupation wanted a six-week ceasefire before resuming conflict, and the US administration had not yet convinced Tel Aviv to accept a permanent ceasefire.

He highlighted that the events following October 7, including killings, destruction, and occupation, revealed the true face of the Israeli Occupation.

Hamdan denied messages attributed to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, which claimed that the martyrdom of civilians was a necessary sacrifice. He labeled these as "fake messages" sent by a non-Palestinian to the Wall Street Journal to pressure Hamas and provoke the people against their leader, without providing evidence.
