Jordan overcame challenges with King’s wisdom: Momani
As Jordanians celebrate the Silver Jubilee, politicians highlight King Abdullah II's adept management of politics and foreign relations over the past 25 years.
Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, Secretary-General of the National Charter Party, emphasized that Jordan's prudent, objective, and professional approach to regional, political, and security issues helped the country navigate and emerge stronger from numerous challenges.
In an interview with Roya News' "News at Seven," Momani noted that the Middle East and the world faced many crises, from the 9/11 attacks and the Arab Spring to the Syrian crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. He credited King Abdullah II's wisdom in handling these regional and global challenges for sparing Jordan from adverse effects.
Momani identified three pillars of Jordan's strength: wise leadership, robust institutions, and an aware and committed populace. These factors, he said, enabled Jordan to avoid many challenges.
On the international stage, King Abdullah II enjoys high credibility, and his opinions are respected globally for their wisdom and objectivity, Momani added.
Discussing the situation in Gaza, he stressed that addressing it requires great wisdom and courage. He asserted that Jordan's stance will be remembered as a noble and prominent Arab and Islamic position in defending Gaza.
Momani concluded that anyone who looks at what Jordan has faced over the past 25 years will understand the magnitude of the challenges, yet Jordan overcame them with wisdom and strength.
