Queen Rania honors excellence in education at Annual Awards Ceremony
Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan presided over a prestigious ceremony at the Hussein Youth City Culture Palace, recognizing educators and educational leaders for their outstanding achievements.
The ceremony celebrated the 18th Queen Rania Award for Distinguished Teacher, the 8th Award for Distinguished Principal, the 4th Award for Supportive Directorates of Education, and the inaugural Award for Outstanding Kindergartens.
During the event, Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the critical role of exceptional education in shaping a nation poised to compete in a knowledge-driven global economy. He lauded the commitment of educators to fostering creativity and excellence among their students.
Lubna Touqan, the executive director of the awards association, expressed pride in this year's winners, especially the first recipients of the kindergarten excellence award. She highlighted the importance of early childhood educators in developing responsible young students and setting an example in the educational sector.
The association reviewed over 6,000 nominations this year from various educational institutions, all rigorously evaluated by a dedicated committee. Winners included educational directorates from the regions of Southern Shuneh, Northern Jordan Valley, and Irbid Qasaba, recognized for promoting a culture of excellence within their districts.
The ceremony, which also marked milestones for directors and teachers across multiple educational categories, was attended by nearly 1,800 educators from all over Jordan, educational and media personalities, public and private sector partners, and the awards committees. In a special tribute to the educators, artist Nidaa Sharara performed a song dedicated to the honorees, celebrating their dedication and efforts in the field of education.
