The Israeli Occupation army admitted to killing a UN worker in Rafah last Monday. This incident is the first of its kind since the onset of the Israeli aggression on Gaza 221 days ago, according to an official investigation.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the United Nations, announced the death of a UN security staff member in an attack on his vehicle in Rafah. Haq confirmed that this is the first incident of its nature since the war on Gaza began.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep sorrow over the death of the UN Department of Safety and Security member and the injury of another due to the shelling of their vehicle while they were heading to the European Hospital in Rafah. The Secretary-General called for a full investigation into the incident and condemned all attacks against UN personnel.

Since the beginning of the aggression, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have directly targeted dozens of employees of international organizations.
