King Abdullah II and President Emmanuel Macron met in Paris on Monday to address the ongoing critical situation in Gaza and the catastrophic humanitarian conditions there.

During their meeting at the Élysée Palace, the two leaders reiterated the need for the international community to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza and ensure its delivery through all possible means. They emphasized their commitment to continue working towards delivering this aid.

King Abdullah and President Macron also reaffirmed the necessity for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the protection of civilians.

The meeting, attended by Queen Rania and French First Lady Brigitte Macron, also covered regional issues. King Abdullah warned of the dangers of escalating wars in the region, which threaten international security, and stressed that the two-state solution is the only path to achieving just and comprehensive peace.

The leaders highlighted the importance of supporting efforts to enhance Lebanon's stability and security. King Abdullah warned about the continued targeting of aid facilities in Gaza and praised France's support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which plays a crucial role in providing services to nearly two million Palestinians in the region.

King Abdullah also pointed to developments in the West Bank, cautioning against hostile actions by extremist settlers against Palestinians and unilateral measures that target the historical and legal status quo of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The leaders discussed bilateral relations, expressing their eagerness to strengthen and expand cooperation between their countries in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and Jordan's Ambassador to France, Lina Haddad.

Upon their arrival at the Élysée Palace, King Abdullah and Queen Rania were welcomed by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
