The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) claimed Monday that it assassinated the head of Hamas' internal security operations department in Gaza, Faik Mabhouh, during an operation carried out at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the IOF alleged the arrest of 80 militants in the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City and claimed full control over it following a pre-dawn raid.
It had announced that joint forces of the army and Shin Bet were continuing a concentrated military operation at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported a fire at the gate of the Shifa Medical Complex and cases of suffocation among displaced women and children in the hospital, along with communications being cut off completely after the IOF raid.
