One out of three children under two suffer from malnutrition, says UNRWA

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed that one out of every three children under the age of two in northern Gaza are “now acutely malnourished.”

“Children's malnutrition is spreading fast and reaching unprecedented levels in Gaza. Famine is looming. There is no time to waste,” the Agency’s statement added.

Earlier today, the first ship loaded with Humanitarian aid to reach the Gaza Strip “Open Arms” had finished unloading its entire cargo and is now being prepared for distribution in the Strip - the World Central Kitchen (WCK) said in a statement, cited by AFP.

The vessel is carrying 200 tons of food supplies, as reported by the Spanish charity overseeing the mission.

The ship is part of “Operation Safeena” led by Jordan, UAE, and Arab countries in addition to Cyprus coordinating inspections - a statement by José Andrés said - celebrity chef and founder of World Central Kitchen.
