IMAGES - 200-ton humanitarian aid vessel fully unloaded in Gaza

The first ship loaded with Humanitarian aid to reach the Gaza Strip “Open Arms” had finished unloading its entire cargo and is now being prepared for distribution in the Strip - the World Central Kitchen (WCK) said in a statement, cited by AFP.

The vessel is carrying 200 tons of food supplies, as reported by the Spanish charity overseeing the mission.

The ship is part of “Operation Safeena” led by Jordan, UAE, and Arab countries in addition to Cyprus coordinating inspections - a statement by José Andrés said - celebrity chef and founder of World Central Kitchen.

Later Today, The Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, conducted five air drops of medical and food aid with the participation of several partner countries - a statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is working to unify international efforts to deliver more aid to the people of the Gaza Strip to help them confront the current conditions, especially during the holy month of Ramadan - the statement concluded.

With this recent operation, the total number of airdrops conducted by the Jordanian Armed Forces stands at 48, with an additional 68 airdrops conducted in collaboration with allied nations since the onset of the Israeli Occupation aggression in Gaza.

On Friday, the ship anchored off Gaza’s shore in the docking area which lies just under half a mile from the Wadi Gaza checkpoint, dividing southern and northern Gaza.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated that the sea corridor cannot fully replace land routes for aid delivery into Gaza.
