His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized during his meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday, on the sidelines of the 60th Munich Security Conference in Germany, the importance of intensifying international efforts to stop the ceasefire in Gaza.

His Majesty stressed during the meeting the importance of the international community playing its role in protecting innocent civilians facing harsh conditions as a result of the ongoing war in Gaza.

He emphasized the importance of continuously delivering relief, humanitarian, and medical aid to the residents of Gaza, given the severe shortage of basic necessities such as food, water, medicine, electricity, and fuel in the Strip.

His Majesty reiterated his warning against the “Israeli” attack on Rafah, which could lead to another humanitarian catastrophe that may force displacement of the population, affirming Jordan's rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians internally or externally.

His Majesty pointed to the necessity of continuing support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to fulfill its UN mandate.

During the meeting, they also reaffirmed the deep historical relations between Jordan and Germany and the keenness to enhance them in various fields, especially in the economic and investment sectors. His Majesty expressed appreciation for Germany's support to the Kingdom in developmental areas.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Germany, Yousef Al-Bataineh.
