“Israeli” Knesset approves bill to prohibit UNRWA’s activity inside its territory
The Israeli Occupation’s House of Representatives, the Knesset, has approved, in a preliminary reading, to stop the activity of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) inside the “sovereign territory of Israel.”
“The role of UNRWA is to deal with Palestinian refugees only, meaning that there is no room for it to give any services within the territory of the State of Israel, in which there are no Palestinian refugees, but rather residents of the state who receive services from its various institutions,” the bill states, “UNRWA's institutions serve as fertile ground for committing actions and incitement against the State of Israel.”
The bill was supported by 33 Members of Knesset, versus 10 who opposed it, and it will be turned over to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for deliberation.
The bill also instructs the “Israeli” police to “take action to enforce this prohibition.”
