During its session held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, the Cabinet decided to provide an additional support amounting to JOD 500,000 to the Jordan Football Association (JFA), in addition to the JOD one million previously allocated and disbursed last Thursday.

This decision by the Cabinet follows the Royal directives to the government to provide support to the JFA, in light of the unprecedented historic achievement of the national football team in winning the silver medal in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. The aim is to ensure the sustainability of this achievement and build upon it.

Furthermore, the Cabinet decided to exempt the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from the costs of school textbooks for the years 2019-2023, totaling more than JOD four million.

Responding to His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives, the Cabinet had previously allocated JOD three million in support to UNRWA’s budget in October, 2023.

This decision comes in light of the difficult financial circumstances facing the agency and aims to assist it in providing essential services to Palestinian refugees in the Kingdom, aligning with the Kingdom's supportive stance towards UNRWA.

In other matters, the Cabinet approved a revised regulation for the administrative organization of the Ministry of Agriculture for the year 2024.

This revision comes following the issuance of Food Security Council Regulation No. 43 of 2023, which established a secretariat for the council responsible for organizing its meetings, recording session minutes, monitoring the implementation of decisions, and maintaining its records.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved recommendations from the Committee for Settlement of Pending Cases between taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department to settle the tax situations of 551 companies and taxpayers who had obligations under the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law.
