Regions including Rass Munif, Sakra, Abeen, and the town of Samta in the Ajloun Governorate witnessed snowfall since the early hours of Friday, influenced by the low-pressure system affecting Jordan.

ArabiaWeather’s forecasts indicated that a second-degree low-pressure system, accompanied by moist western currents, is moving towards Jordan on Friday. Consequently, daytime temperatures are expected to rise slightly compared to the past days, while the overall weather remains relatively cold.

Widespread rainfall is anticipated in various areas of Jordan, particularly concentrated in the central and southern regions. The precipitation is expected to be heavy at times, accompanied by hail and occasional thunder.

Snow showers are expected intermittently over the high mountainous elevations, especially in the southern highlands (Shara Mountains), with the possibility of accumulations, particularly over the towering peaks.

Forecasts indicate some snow accumulations in the Al-Qadisiyah region in the Tafilah Governorate, the highlands of Shobak, Al-Hisha, Jabal Mubarak, the Rajef area, and the highlands of the Iyl District, in addition to the peaks of Ras Al-Naqab.

Low-hanging clouds in proximity to the ground in the mountainous elevations are causing the formation of dense fog, significantly reducing horizontal visibility for extended periods, especially during the evening and night hours.

Public security personnel are on standby around the clock to provide assistance and support to citizens.

ArabiWeather suggested the possibility of snowfall on high mountainous elevations for limited periods, potentially covering parts of the eastern and southeastern regions, occasionally mixed with rain. The chance of light accumulation on the high southern mountain peaks is low, with a decrease in precipitation intensity during the evening hours. Winds are expected to be active and northwest in direction, according to the Meteorological Department.
