'Attack on UNRWA is malicious political assault by Israeli Occupation,' says Palestinian PM

Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, stated that "the decision of the International Court of Justice is important legally, politically, and humanely, and it is necessary for Tel Aviv to adhere to everything it contains, especially the need to bring in aid and increase its volume and quality."

During a meeting with the government ministers, Shtayyeh announced the launch of a new phase of the judicial, administrative, security, and financial reform program.

Shtayyeh stated that the attack on the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) is a malicious political assault by the Israeli Occupation, emphasizing that it has long been fighting UNRWA and the refugee camps everywhere.

He stressed the Israeli Occupation's need to adhere to the International Court of Justice's decision, highlighting that the entry of aid requires a ceasefire, the cessation of aggression, and enabling people to return to their homes.

Shtayyeh emphasized the importance of holding Tel Aviv accountable for genocide after it was described by many international institutions last year as a racist state practicing apartheid against the Palestinian people.

He called on the Israeli Occupation to stop annexing land in Gaza under the pretext of establishing a buffer zone, preventing the return of colonization and settlers to Gaza.

Shtayyeh urged countries that suspended their assistance to UNRWA to reconsider, seeing it as a dangerous move that undermines the institution and jeopardizes the lives of those in need of assistance in Gaza, where the agency provides aid to approximately 1.7 million refugees.
