North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of a submarine-launched cruise missile, and also as reported by North Korean state media Monday.

"[The missiles] flew in the sky above the East Sea (...) to hit the targeted island," said North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The tested missiles are a newly developed “Pulhwasal-3-31” capable of carrying nuclear warheads, and was first tested by North Korea last Wednesday.

South Korea's military also announced that it detected the launch of cruise missiles from the port of Sinpo area in North Korea.
