Nabeel Al-Sarayrah, the owner of a restaurant named “October 7,” speaking to Roya, stated that the name is not only a reference to “Operation Aqsa Typhoon” carried out by Al-Qassam Brigades, but also to the date of his daughter’s university graduation from Algeria on the same date.

The name sparked outrage in Hebrew media and was criticized by the Israeli Occupation Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, labeling it as “disgraceful” in addition to demanding the Jordanian government to condemn the naming.

He stated that he received numerous calls inquiring about the reason behind the name. Al-Sarayrah described the Israeli Occupation as a “fragile and a weak state” that stoops down to quarreling with restaurants and views as a factor in international relations.

He emphasized that his stance on the Palestinian cause is the same as any other Jordanian - being supportive towards the Palestinian people amid the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip, adding that the Israeli Occupations knows it will be short-lived.

"The disgraceful glorification of October 7 must stop," Yair Lapid said, earlier Thursday in response to the name.

“We expect the Jordanian government to condemn this publicly and unequivocaly,” he said on his “X” account, formerly known as Twitter.

Yedioth Ahronoth stated that the Restaurant’s name indicates a deterioration in relations with Jordan, describing it as a "anti-Semitic" move.
