Hamas denounces Israeli Occupation's destruction of educational institutions in Gaza
Hamas issued a statement in which it stated that the Israeli Occupation's destruction of schools and universities in the Gaza Strip is a criminal behavior that will not achieve its aggressive goals in undermining the educational system and the steadfast national identity.
Hamas added that the continued aggressive and systematic targeting by the Israeli Occupation of schools, universities, and educational institutions in the Gaza Strip through bombing and destruction of buildings constitutes a war crime and criminal behavior aimed at destroying all the components supporting the continuity of the educational system in the Gaza Strip.
It clarified that, during the past hundred days, the Israeli Occupation destroyed more than 390 schools, universities, and educational institutions. The latest incidents include the explosion of Al-Isra University and the renewed bombing of the Islamic University.
It pointed out that the continuous aggression of the Israeli Occupation against educational institutions, within the context of its genocidal and ethnic cleansing policies, aims to destroy all components of human life.
Hamas affirmed that the Palestinian people, through their resilience, sacrifices, and resistance, will thwart these malicious schemes to undermine the educational system and obliterate the firmly established national identity of the Palestinian people.
Hamas called on the United Nations and international human rights institutions to document these crimes, along with all the Israeli Occupation's crimes in the Gaza Strip, and to hold them accountable for their roles and responsibilities in condemning and prosecuting the entity and its leaders before the relevant international courts.
