A military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army stated that a staff member of the Jordanian Field Hospital/2 in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, was injured in the past hours due to clashes in the hospital's vicinity.

The source pointed out that the condition of the injured, who sustained injuries to his right thigh and right hand, is moderate, and they will be airlifted to the Kingdom for necessary treatment under royal directives.

The source also mentioned that a Gaza resident receiving treatment in the intensive care unit was also injured by shrapnel and gunfire during the aggression.

The source indicated that the hospital, which suffered extensive damage due to continuous Israeli Occupation shelling in its vicinity since yesterday until this morning, will continue to fulfill its medical and humanitarian duties towards the people in the Gaza Strip.

The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army - holds “Israel” fully responsible for the safety of the hospital staff carrying out their humanitarian duties in accordance with international laws and conventions. The attack on the Jordanian Field Hospital constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.

The Jordanian government will take all necessary measures in response to this aggression, stressing the need for “Israel,” the occupying force, to comply with its obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law. This includes refraining from attacking hospitals as protected areas and not taking any actions that hinder or impede the medical personnel from performing their duties.
