The Secretary-General of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Muhannad Alazzeh, revealed that the number of people with disabilities in Jordan is 1.25 million.

Alazzeh noted that people with disabilities constitute 11.2 percent of the total population of the Kingdom.

In a parliamentary budget session for the Council for Persons with Disabilities, Alazzeh highlighted that this percentage is in line with global standards, as the average for people with disabilities in any society is typically 15 percent.
