Coronavirus vaccination campaign for persons with disabilities begins Wednesday

Wednesday, the campaign to vaccinate persons with disabilities against the coronavirus began for all those registered on the official vaccine platform to receive the jab.

Tuesday, the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in coordination with the Crisis Cell at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management and the Ministry of Health, announced the start of a campaign to vaccinate persons with disabilities registered on the platform beginning Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

The criteria is as follows:

1. The disability must be proven, according to medical reports issued by one of the Ministry of Health hospitals or its regional medical committees, or from one of the Royal Medical Services hospitals or a university hospital indicating disability details.

2. The person must be registered on the official coronavirus vaccine platform (www.vaccine.jo).

3. The person to be vaccinated must at least be 18 years old.

4. The person must come to the center designated for his/her vaccination with their medical report, civil status ID, or passport if he/she is not Jordanian.

5. Wednesday, March 31, 2021, is devoted to receiving people with intellectual and neurological disabilities including developmental disabilities, Down syndrome, autism, multiple sclerosis, ALS, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease.

6. The second week (day and date will be determined at a later stage) will be devoted to persons with visual impairment, total blindness and severe visual impairment.

7. The third week (the day and date will be determined later) will be devoted to people with physical disabilities: paralysis of all kinds, dwarfism, amputation of all kinds, muscle atrophy etc.

8. The fourth week (day and date will be determined later) will be devoted to persons with mental disabilities such as all forms of schizophrenia, and bipolar disorders.

9. The fifth week (day and date will be determined later) will be devoted to those with hearing disabilities: complete deafness and severe hearing impairment.
