US helicopters sinks 3 Houthi boats, killing their crews

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that Houthi boats attacked a commercial ship, and US Navy helicopters in the southern Red Sea, after a container ship owned by Maersk sent a second distress call in less than 24 hours reporting an attack.

CENTCOM added that Houthi boats fired at the ship, approached it, and tried to board it. In response to the distress call, American helicopters arrived, and the Houthis engaged with them. The US helicopters, in "self-defense," per the statement, sank three of four small boats, killing the crews. The fourth boat fled the area. There was no damage to US personnel or equipment.
