Commander of 51st battalion in Golani Brigade dismissed

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) has dismissed the commander of 51st battalion in the Golani Brigade after “exposing soldiers to danger” in the battles taking place in the Shija'iya neighborhood in the Gaza Strip.

The battalion commander, who put the soldiers at risk, ordered them to enter homes in the area despite the fear of houses being trapped. Another deputy was appointed in his place, as reported by Hebrew channel 12.

The incident occurred during intense fighting in the Shija'iya neighborhood three weeks ago.

During the battle, there was concern about soldiers being targeted by an anti-tank missile where the fighters were stationed. Soldiers were prohibited from entering homes in the area to avoid being surrounded. However, the commander disregarded the instructions and ordered them to enter the homes instead.
